Making biryani in pressure cooker is very simple and easy method and tasty too.It takes very less time and little effort to prepare chicken biryani in cooker.
Ingredients for chicken biryani:
Basmati Rice - 2 cups
Water - 3 cups
Chicken - 1/2 kg
Onions - 2 big (sliced)
Tomato - 1
Green Chilli - 2
Ginger garlic paste - 2 tbsp
Oil - 3 tbsp
Ghee - 3 tbsp
Mint , Coriander - small bunch
Cardamom (Elachi) - 3
Cinnamon stick - 1/2 inch
Cloves - 5
Bay leaf - 1
Marination :
Chicken - 1/2 kg
Red chilli powder - 1 spoon
Salt - 1 spoon
Garam Masala - 1 spoon
Yogurt/ Curd - 1 cup
Mint leaves /Pudeena and Coriander leaves - small bunch
Lemon juice - 1 tbsp
Ginger garlic paste - 2 tbsp
Method:
Serve hot with Raitha :)

Chicken - 1/2 kg
Red chilli powder - 1 spoon

Lemon juice - 1 tbsp
Ginger garlic paste - 2 tbsp
Method:
- Marinate chicken with curd , ginger garlic paste, red chilli powder , salt , garam masala , lemon juice , coriander and mint leaves. Keep this marinated chicken aside for at least 1 hour.
- After 1 hour , in a pan add 1 tbsp oil and add marinated chicken. Fry for 5 mins and keep it aside.
- Wash and soak the basmati rice and keep aside for 15 mins.
- In a pressure cooker heat oil and ghee. Add cardamom , cloves , bay leaf and cinnamon stick.
- When they crackle , add the onion , green chilli and fry on a low heat till light brown.
- Add ginger garlic paste and saute for a min.
- Add tomatoes , mint leaves and coriander leaves. Mix well.
- Fry them for 2 mins.
- Now add the chicken pieces along with any left over juice and mix well.
- Now add the water and salt (check the salt as per taste).
- When the water starts boiling , add rice.
- Mix well and cover with lid. Don't stir continuously as the rice flakes may break.
- Now bring this mixture to boil and reduce the flame.
- Cover the pressure cooker and cook it on a low heat for 10 mins.
- Switch off the flame. After 10 mins , open the pressure cooker and fluff it with a fork.
Serve hot with Raitha :)
