Sesame chikki/Nuvvula patti/Sesame brittle is a very simple and quick festive sweet.Sesame is a rich source of vitamins , minerals and contains copper , calcium and manganese.It contains highly beneficial fiber.
Sesame chikki is very easy to prepare and can be used a snack . I am sure, once you start eating it , you won't like to stop.



Ingredients:

Sesame seeds - 1 cup
Sugar             -  1 cup
Ghee              -  For grease

Method:
  • Roast sesame seeds / Nuvvulu / Til in a pan till it turns golden brown and keep them aside.
  • Now grease the base of steel plate or aluminum foil and roller with some ghee. 
  • Now heat a pan and place sugar in it. Stir it continuously otherwise it will stick to pan. 
  • Reduce the flame to low when the sugar starts melting. 
  • Continuously stir it until sugar reaches brown liquid state. 
  • Then turn off the flame and add roasted sesame seeds into the fluid of sugar mix. 
  • Mix it well.  
  • Spread this sesame sugar mix on the greased plate and by using roller make it to a thin layer. 
  • When it is still warm , cut it into small pieces of required shape by using a knife. 
  • Let it to cool down completely. 
  • Once cooled , break the chikki's and store them in a air tight container.  
Note : It is better to complete them within 2 weeks.
