Easy chicken curry / How to make chicken curry in pressure cooker with step by step pictures / kodi koora in pressure Cooker / Kodi Iguru

In this recipe , I want to share a very easy , quick chicken gravy in pressure cooker with less ingredients and in less time. I often choose this method when I am in a hurry and have no time. Here is the simple chicken curry (kodi iguru) with step by step pictures.

Ingredients  chicken gravy in pressure cooker :

Chicken                             - 1/2 kg
Onions                               - 2
Tomatoes                           - 2
Green Chilli                         - 2
Curry leaves                       - few
Coriander leaves (Cilantro) - few (a small bunch)
Ginger garlic paste              - 2 tbsp
Red Chilli Powder              - 1.5 tbsp
Garam Masala                    - 1.5 tbsp
Turmeric Powder (Pasupu) - 1/4 tbsp
Oil                                     - 3 tbsp
Salt                                   - As per taste

Method :

  • Marinate chicken with 1/2 tbsp salt and turmeric powder.

  • Chop onions and then keep aside.

  • In a pressure cooker, heat oil and then add green chillies, curry leaves and coriander leaves.

  • Add finely chopped onions.

  • Add 1 tbsp salt and fry till onions are transparent.

  • Add ginger and garlic paste and fry this till the raw smell of ginger garlic paste goes (about 2 mins).

  • Then add finely chopped tomatoes and cook this for 5 mins.

  • Fry  until the tomatoes become mushy.

  • Then add chicken pieces.

  • Mix well and cover the lid. Cook this until the chicken loses all the water and changes it's color to white.

  • Then add red chili powder and garam masala powder. Mix well.

  • Add 1/4 cup water and check out salt.

  • Close the pressure cooker lid and cook for 3 to 4 whistles.

  • Switch off the flame and keep the cooker aside.
  • That's it,Your simple chicken curry and is ready to serve.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and serve with rice, biryani or roti.

Notes:
  • Whenever you buy chicken, clean the chicken and wash it for two to three times. Then marinate chicken in 1 tbsp salt and 1/2 tbsp turmeric. When you marinate chicken, then whatever recipe you prepare, chicken pieces will be juicy, soft and tender after cooking. Otherwise they may not be soft.
  • When adding water in chicken curry, don't add too much water because when you open the cooker lid after cooking, you may not have thick gravy.
  • If there is more watery texture in your chicken curry, then remove chicken pieces to another bowl and cook this gravy until it's thicken. Because already the chicken pieces are well cooked. If you cook entire chicken curry again, the chicken pieces will be broken into small pieces.
